Topic: My Journey to Being My “Authentic Self”
Abstract: We often hear advice encouraging women to be their "authentic selves" in the workplace. Have times truly changed? Are women now genuinely accepted in the tech industry for who they are and the unique perspectives they bring? Or do unconscious biases still subtly influence and reinforce stereotypes?
Bio: Trina Ford is a recognized leader in the cybersecurity and risk management fields with over 25 years of experience. Throughout her diverse and distinguished career, she has held key positions such as Chief Information Security Officer at iHeartMedia, AEG, and AECOM, as well as Chief Business Security Officer at ADP. Her experience spans various industries, highlighting her unique capabilities and contributions to the field.
Trina is an accomplished Global Chief Information Security Officer, recognized as a transformational executive with over two decades of experience designing and implementing industry leading, enterprise-wide security, risk, and compliance programs for prestigious Fortune 500 companies worldwide. Her distinguished career spans various industries, from retail, hospitality, and financial services to entertainment, media, and radio broadcasting. Trina has held key leadership positions, serving as the Chief Information Security Officer, currently with iHeartMedia and previously with AECOM and then AEG. Her other notable positions include Chief Business Security Officer, Vice President of Global Integrated Risk, Head of Vendor Assurance & Third-Party Risk Management with ADP, and Senior Manager of IT Security and Compliance at Royal Caribbean.
Throughout her career, Trina has taken direct responsibility for enhancing and maturing teams and programs with a focus on information and cyber security, operational and third-party risk management, and operational compliance. She has been a trusted advisor to Boards, Clients, and Senior Business Executives providing strategic insights on the evolving cyber threat landscape and the impact of emerging risks/threats to the industry and organizations
Carol Severyn - Group Executive Vice President & Chief Risk Officer - Frost Bank
Bio: Carol Severyn is the group executive vice president and chief risk officer for Frost, as well as a member of the company’s senior leadership team. In her role, she oversees compliance, security, loan review, business continuity, and risk management. Trained as an auditor, she has a unique background in risk assessment, critical thinking, and controls assurance.
A native of San Antonio, Carol earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist, and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
Carol resides in San Antonio. She enjoys spending time with her two sons, playing beach volleyball, and traveling.
Holly McCrindle - Managing Director, Governance, Risk, and Compliance - HEB
Topic: Operational Excellence in Tech: Identifying Inefficiencies, implementing process improvements, and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Bio: Holly McCrindle has extensive experience delivering large-scale organizational transformations, financial strategy, risk reduction, and process improvements in large, matrixed environments. She has held past senior leadership positions at Lowe’s Companies, Inc., Walmart, and Bank of America. She has a passion for data driven decision-making, Process Improvement, and Talent Development. She holds an MBA with a specialization in Accounting from East Texas A&M University and a BSBA in Finance with specializations in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Florida.
