1st Presentation:

Hacking The Hackers to Stop Ransomware

Abstract:

With ransomware running rampant and supply chain attacks evading security controls, we will briefly describe how attackers evade current methods securing the outer walls and internal systems and how external counterintelligence can close gaps in breach visibility. By essentially hacking the hacker using different methods it becomes possible to hijack attacker communications from the outside of the organization to discover breaches early in the kill chain and with much more evidentiary data to accelerate the response.

Speaker:

Karim Hijazi | Found & CEO - Prevailion

Prevailion’s Founder and CEO, Karim Hijazi, has a rich history in cybersecurity. His previous startup, Unveillance, was acquired by Mandiant (now FireEye) in 2012. He’s worked closely with the US intelligence community for years and specializes in adversary intelligence, cyber threat analysis, and cybersecurity innovation. Karim noticed a vulnerability in the way businesses have begun to rely on their third-party partners. The size of a business’ perimeter had increased along with the size of their third-party ecosystem, and there was no clear way to monitor that vast new space.  He saw an opportunity to give businesses visibility into this untapped space with the creation of Prevailion. Most recently, as of October of 2020, Prevailion had been awarded the coveted Gartner Cool Vendor Award for Security Operations and Threat Intelligence.

2nd Presentation:

A stroll through the Ransomware Kill Chain: Case Studies

Abstract:

Discuss the baseline of a ransomware attack. During these case study reviews, Francisco will highlight the way the adversary gains initial access to a client's environment, how to establish a foothold, and how attackers move quickly to deploy their ransomware across an enterprise network. Throughout the presentation, Francisco will also highlight steps the organization could have taken to prevent or limit the impact of the attack.

Speaker:

Francisco Donoso | Senior Director - Security Strategy - Kudelski Security

Francisco Donoso is the Director of Global Security Strategy at Kudelski Security, a global cybersecurity services provider, where he previously worked as the principal architect building out the company’s global Managed Security Services (MSS) offerings. Francisco has been at the forefront of research into the Equation Group’s post-exploitation tools and capabilities since their release by the Shadow Brokers and has spoken about this research at Derbycon, Thotcon, Microsoft Bluehat, and other conferences.

3rd Presentation:

My journey to a CISO role, and lessons learned along the way

Abstract:

This presentation will take us through Chris's journey into a CISO role, from a Customer Support engineer role back in France into one of the largest Japanese-owned companies. Along the way of his 36 years in technology, there are a number of lessons learned that Chris will explain and hopefully will help the audience navigate their career in Security.

Speaker:

Chris Jacquet | VP & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) - Hitachi Vantara

Jacquet is responsible for enterprise information security, establishing and maintaining a corporate-wide information security program to protect Hitachi Vantara’s information assets.
